Spring Honeymoon – Best Destinations By Month

So you have chosen the month to get married and booked your venue. You’re now starting to think about the honeymoon. Here’s a month by month guide to ensure you get the most out of your Spring honeymoon.

March Honeymoon

The weather for most destinations in the northern hemisphere is very changeable in March, so we recommend destinations close to the equator. Some of the most popular honeymoon destinations near the equator are in the Indian Ocean. These include Mauritius, the Maldives and the Seychelles.

The Maldives are perfect for a complete chill out honeymoon on a desert island. Mauritius on the other hand has more activities but more people as well.  The Seychelles are beautiful but expensive.

The Caribbean has great weather at this time of year and with March being festival time there is no better way to celebrate the start of your marriage. For secluded beaches and relaxation try visiting the small island of St. Kitts – here you will find quiet beaches and a peaceful relaxing atmosphere.

March is wet season for safari destinations such as Zambia. While this doesn’t sound great it is the perfect time to enjoy a river safari and visit the fantastic Victoria Falls as they will be in full flow.

April Honeymoon

Southern and central USA has good weather in April. You could visit the bright lights of Las Vegas and try and win back the money you spent on your wedding! There’s plenty to do in this city.

Trang in southern Thailand is particularly good in April as well. It was recently voted cleanest town in Thailand and from there you can explore waterfalls, caves, and forest trails. The wildlife is fantastic.

The weather is still OK in the Caribbean in April and you might like to try Jamaica which has both energetic nightlife and plenty of secluded beaches and coves for a honeymoon couple to enjoy on their own.

May Honeymoon

Hawaii has an attractive climate in May. Often referred to as the USA’s honeymoon capital, the land of Hula dancing offers exotic landscape with stunning beaches and sparkling waters. With a choice of six unique islands, there is plenty to explore.

Mexico is great in May, offering lovely beaches with golden sands and blue seas. Relax on the beach or have a go at some water sports like kayaking and windsurfing. Explore the magnificent ruined ancient temples and pyramids. Most resorts are all inclusive so you can be waited on hand and foot.

South Africa is also popular in May as the temperatures are perfect. Here you can combine safaris with city tours and wine region visits.

If you are interested in pure safari then Botswana is a great destination. Chobe National Park and the Okavango Delta in particular are full of great wildlife. You can even sleep underneath the stars for a really romantic experience to start your marriage.

If you really want to go even further off the beaten track then Mozambique on the south-east coast of Africa fits the bill. Here you can enjoy the warm Indian Ocean waters and taste freshly caught fish off the barbeque. It is also fantastic for snorkeling, scuba diving and sailing.
