Summer Honeymoon (June – Aug)

So you have chosen the month to get married and booked your venue. You’re now starting to think about the honeymoon.

Here’s a month by month guide from the honeymoon advisers at holidaysplease.co.uk to ensure you get the most out of your Summer honeymoon.

June Honeymoon

Summer in Europe provides some fantastic honeymoon options. For couples looking to escape everything, we recommend Sardinia. It is a very peaceful island with a traditional feel. Here you can enjoy clear Mediterranean waters and unspoilt countryside.

Italy is also ideal for a romantic honeymoon. The weather in June should be perfect for you and your partner to share your first days as a married couple. Visit the historical city of Rome and explore the Coliseum, or how about a romantic ride on a gondola down the canals of Venice? Italy has something for everyone..

Further afield, in east Africa, Tanzania has the perfect mix of adventure and beach and is at its very best in June.

Visit the famous Serengeti National Park, or take a trip to the unique Ngoro Ngoro crater, which are both crammed full of wonderful wildlife.

As June is the dry season for safaris you will find wildlife gathering around small areas of water. This means you have a higher chance of seeing a wide variety of animals.

July Honeymoon

July is the peak Summer holiday season for many European destinations including Italy and Sardinia.

Further afield, Bali, one of Indonesia’s more popular islands, is famous for some of its hotels set into lush hills overlooking the ocean. This small island provides vibrant night life, busy markets and beautiful beaches.

In July you could start your Summer honeymoon with the Independence Day celebrations if you travel to Hawaii. You and your loved one can be part of the celebrations on the gorgeous beaches.

August Honeymoon

Europe is obviously still in its summer months in August and so again Italy is a great destination for a romantic honeymoon. As it’s the height of summer you can visit places further north in Italy which should still have great weather. Why not hire your own villa in Tuscany?

If you are looking for something a bit more unusual then we recommend a visit to the island of Zanzibar off the coast of Tanzania. Known as the ‘Spice Island’, be sure to go on a spice tour through the villages and see the local culture.

For honeymoons in the Far East, 17 August is Independence Day in Bali which means it’s a great time to visit. After you have celebrated your special day you can help celebrate theirs.

Or for more honeymoon festivities in August head down to Hawaii. Here the three month long ‘Aloha Festival’ awaits you. The festival celebrates dance, music and the country’s history and traditions. Be prepared to join in with this unforgettable fiesta or simply watch as you relax together on the paradise island beaches.
